Vishy's Indian English Dictionary: dicky
dicky. /diki/. The back of a car. Known in the U.S. as the trunk, and in the U.K. as the boot.
Western travelers arriving in India may break into laughter when the taxi driver, in an earnest attempt to be friendly, asks, "Sir, you want the big suitcase in the dicky, no?" He's trying to be helpful and not dirty.
